Just play!
In tennis, it’s important to stay focused on the point in front of you and not weigh yourself down with unnecessary baggage. Overthinking mistakes, worrying about outcomes, or replaying previous points often leads to repeating the same errors again and again.
Instead, focus on what’s actually within your control and give yourself the best chance to perform in that moment.
Think of it like being inside a bubble.
While the point is live, stay inside that bubble. Your only job is to compete for that point — nothing else matters. No frustration from the last rally, no concern about the score, no fear of making another mistake.
Then, once the point is over, burst the bubble.
Take a moment to reflect if needed, but don’t feel you have to analyse every single point. Allow yourself to reset, let the tension disperse, and then refocus with a clear head for the next challenge.
Less stress. More clarity. More efficiency.
